Cartoon Characters go Bald for kids with cancer

This went viral a couple of months ago, but we thought it was such a wonderful story that we wanted to share it too.

“In Brazil, cartoon characters went through a small transformation. Popular episodes of cartoon shows were re-aired with the same storyline — but with bald characters. Behind the idea was the Brazilian childhood cancer advocacy organization GRAACC. They did not announce an explanation for the cartoons’ new look when they aired, to mirror the idea that children going through cancer shouldn’t have to explain what they’re going through if they don’t want to. The trend soon went international, expanding to characters like Hello Kitty, Snoopy, and Garfield.
